Raythink Integrates FIPS 140-3 Certified TPM: Comprehensive Protection for Users’ Physical Assets and Cybersecurity

Follow us:

Raythink has integrated FIPS 140-3 certified TPM, which achieve an overall security level of 1 with a physical security level of 3, ensuring robust protection for cryptographic assets.

What is the FIPS 140-3 certified TPM?

FIPS 140-3, the latest cryptographic module standard issued by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSE), replaces the previous FIPS 140-2 standard. A Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is primarily used for generating, storing and managing cryptographic keys, as well as for securely storing digital certificates.

How does FIPS 140-3 certified TPM enhance cybersecurity?

FIPS 140-3 certified TPMs deliver robust cybersecurity enhancements through multiple key capabilities.

Physical Tamper Resistance (Level 3)

Meeting FIPS 140-3 Physical Security Level 3 requirements, the modules feature protective designs to withstand aggressive physical attacks, forming a critical hardware barrier against unauthorized intrusion.

Advanced Cryptographic Capabilities

They support a comprehensive suite of approved algorithms, including AES (CBC, CFB128, CTR, ECB, OFB), ECDSA (per FIPS 186-4), RSA (key generation, signing, decryption), HMAC (SHA-1, SHA2, SHA3 variants), SHA-1/-2/-3 hashes, Hash DRBG, KAS-ECC, KDF, and KTS-IFC—enabling full lifecycle management of cryptographic keys and secure storage of digital certificates.

Secure Operation & Compliance

Operating in Approved mode (under interim validation), the TPMs ensure secure handling of sensitive security parameters and maintain compatibility with trusted systems, reducing risks of unauthorized access, data leaks, and device tampering.

Why are FIPS 140-3 certification TPMs essential?

For security camera users—from home consumers to industrial and government entities—monitoring footage contains sensitive data like personal privacy, operational details, and confidential scenes. Breaches during transmission or storage pose severe risks.

Raythink’s security solutions leverage these TPMs to provide physical environment security for monitoring systems while ensuring end-to-end integrity and confidentiality of video evidence.

Conclusion:

While the FIPS 140-3 certified TPMs are a key part of our security framework, it is only one of many measures we implement to protect customer data. From robust encryption protocols and secure firmware updates to stringent access controls and continuous security innovation, we are committed to delivering comprehensive protection. Our goal is to provide customers with not only high-quality monitoring solutions but also the peace of mind that their data is safeguarded against evolving threats.
