Raytron Industrial Launches TN463 Series Thermal Camera for Industrial Automation and Continuous Condition Monitoring

Follow us:

In industrial automation and equipment condition monitoring, temperature data needs to do more than reveal a hot spot—it must help users understand changing conditions and respond to abnormalities. Raytron Industrial has introduced the TN463 Fixed-Mount Thermal Camera for industrial inspection and equipment monitoring. It delivers 640 × 512 thermal imaging at 60 Hz with synchronized temperature data. Industrial interfaces and dedicated analysis software support system integration and thermal data analysis.

1. Continuous Thermal Data for Industrial Inspection

Built around a 12 μm uncooled VOx detector, the TN463 thermal camera delivers 640 × 512 resolution at a full-frame rate of 60 Hz. This combination provides spatial detail and continuous image sequences for observing moving components and changing thermal patterns in industrial processes.

Synchronized streaming of thermal images and temperature data allows users to examine temperature changes alongside the corresponding imagery. For production monitoring, this supports analysis of how heat distributes across a component or monitored area as the process progresses. In equipment condition monitoring, it provides a visual basis for locating abnormal heating and reviewing its development over time.

The camera offers two measurement ranges, −20°C to 150°C and 100°C to 650°C, with an accuracy of ±2°C or ±2% of the reading, whichever is greater. Emissivity, reflected temperature, ambient temperature, humidity, and distance corrections help users configure the system for their measurement conditions.

2. Connecting Thermal Measurements with Process Events

The TN463 supports hardware and software triggering, enabling image acquisition to be coordinated with external equipment signals. Through its I/O (input/output) interface, an external electrical signal can trigger image capture at a defined stage in the production cycle. For example, in injection molding, a machine signal can trigger thermal image capture after a part is removed from the mold. This consistent timing helps users compare temperature distributions across parts and identify thermal deviations.

Temperature alarms, abnormality alarms and alarm linkage support responses to configured conditions. Recording, thermal image capture, and alarm outputs provide options to document an event and pass an alert to the wider monitoring system.

For system integrators working on industrial automation applications, the camera combines RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 UVC and RS485 connectivity with support for Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT and ONVIF. Its GigE interface supports thermal data acquisition in distributed systems, while 12 V DC or Power over Ethernet gives installers power flexibility.

3. From Live Monitoring to Offline Review

The TN463 thermal camera works with Raytron Industrial’s TI Studio GigE temperature analysis software, bringing data acquisition, live monitoring, analysis, alarms and reporting into a connected workflow.

The software supports simultaneous preview and analysis of up to four cameras, along with temperature and temperature-rise alarms. Users can configure measurement rules, review historical temperature curves and export data for further evaluation. Offline analysis and report generation help teams document findings and revisit thermal events after they occur.

This combination supports both operators who need live visibility of thermal conditions and engineering teams investigating recurring temperature anomalies.

4. Lens Options for Different Installation Requirements

Available with 6.9 mm, 9.1 mm, 19 mm and 25 mm lenses, the TN463 offers field-of-view options for different target sizes, working distances and installation positions. Users can select wider coverage for a monitored area or a narrower view for a specific inspection target.

Weighing about 290 g and measuring 49 × 49 mm, the camera offers a compact option for integration into machinery and fixed monitoring installations. Typical power consumption is below 4.5 W.

By combining 60 Hz thermal imaging with synchronized temperature data, event triggering and analysis software, the TN463 gives industrial users a practical tool for incorporating thermal information into routine inspection and condition monitoring.
